We offer competitive salaries commensurate with education, qualifications, and experience. Advocacy positions are federal civilian jobs in the excepted service (Public Law employment), and employees are paid on the General Scale (GS) and receive federal leave, health benefits, and retirement contributions. Advocacy employees work on contracts, subject to annual renewal by the office head.
Excepted Service definition
Federal or civil service jobs not in the competitive service or the Senior Executive Service. Excepted service jobs don’t have to follow the same hiring process or requirements as the competitive service (by law, Executive Order, or OPM regulation).
Excepted service agencies set their own qualification requirements and are not subject to the appointment, pay, and classification rules in title 5, United States Code.
